Brooklyn - December 11, 2011 - The Brooklyn Aviators snapped a two-game winless skid with a 5-2 victory over the Akwesasne Warriors on Sunday evening in Federal Hockey League action at the Aviator Sports and Events Center.

Rookies Andrew Owsiak and Matt Atsoff both had two goals each, and Jo St. Pierre stopped 37 shots in the win for the Aviators.

Brooklyn, who were shut out the night before by Cape Cod, took a 2-0 lead into the first intermission after goals from Jesse Felten and Owsiak. Felten put the A's on the board first with a power play tally, his 10th of the year, with 4:01 left in the opening frame. Owsiak followed up with his ninth marker of the season, as he netted Brooklyn's second goal with only 6-seconds left.

Former NHLer Pierre Dagenais cut the Brooklyn lead in half in the second period for the Warriors, as his league-leading 27th goal of the season brought the score to 2-1. With Akwesasne on the power play, Dagenais let go a slap shot from the right wing circle that got over the shoulder of St. Pierre.

Astoff would tally at the 6:43 mark in the third period to give Brooklyn the 3-1 edge. Dagenais collected his second of the game with 8:25 left in the game to cut the deficit back to one at 3-2 . Owsiak and Atsoff tallied for the Aviators late in the game to ice it for Brooklyn, 5-2.

Warriors' netminder David Plouffe stopped 42 shots in the losing effort for Akwesasne.
