Kanata - Sep. 12, 2011 - It was a great start to the 2011-12 for the Cornwall Colts. The Colts went 2-0 during the CCHL Showcase tournament held in Kanata this weekend.

On Satuday afternoon, Cornwall beat the Kanata Stallions 4-1. Scoring for the Colts were Kyle Baun, Michael Borkowski, Mark Rath and Tyson Spink. Cornwall outshot Kanata 46-27 and Lukas Hafner made 26 saves for the win.

On Sunday afternoon, the defending National Champion Pembroke Lumber Kings were the opposition, but the result was similar. The Colts skated away with a 5-1 victory to sweep their weekend games. Roman Ammirato, Tylor Spink, Mark Rath, Borkowski and Michael Phillipes tallied for Cornwall. Cornwall outshot Pembroke 41-17 and Hafner made 16 saves for the win.

Tylor Spink now leads the team in scoring with four points in the first two games. Next action for the Colts is this Thursday night when the play host to the same Kanata Stallions.
