Ottawa - Aug. 31, 2011 - Senators president Cyril Leeder and Richard Gray, vice-president and general manager of TEAM 1200, announced today the hockey club and TEAM 1200 sports radio have signed a three-year extension to their agreement to broadcast all of the Senators pre-, regular- and post-season games through the 2013-14 season. The upcoming 2011-12 campaign will mark the 14th consecutive season of Senators hockey on the TEAM 1200 Senators radio network.

“TEAM 1200 has been a key media partner of the Senators, and we are very pleased to renew our games broadcast agreement with the station and network for three more seasons,” said Leeder. “The Senators and the community benefit from the support of not only the sports radio station, but also the sister stations Majic 100, 580 CFRA and 93.9 BOB FM. As we enter our 20th anniversary season, many of the great memories in modern-day Senators history are recalled vividly by fans through the memorable play-by-play calls carried on the TEAM 1200.”

TEAM 1200 starts its season coverage of Senators hockey on Saturday, Sept. 10, when they will broadcast the first of three games from Oshawa, Ont., where Ottawa will be taking part in the annual rookie tournament. Pre-season National Hockey League action returns to the airwaves on Monday, Sept. 19, when the Senators visit the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“At TEAM 1200 we’re excited about continuing our partnership with the Ottawa Senators,” said Gray. “With play-by-play of every game, live pre- and post-game shows, and daily coverage of the practices, TEAM 1200 is Ottawa’s home for the best Senators coverage.”

The Senators broadcast team of Dean Brown, Gord Wilson and Dave Schreiber return to call the action this season.

The Senators and TEAM 1200 will continue broadcasting games on the Senators’ affiliate network for fans outside the listening area - which can be found on the Star 96.7 in Pembroke, AM 600 CKAT in North Bay and Lake 88.1 in Perth.
