Cambridge - Dec. 21, 2011 - The Toronto Maple Leafs recalled Nazem Kadri from their Marlies AHL affiliated club today.

He was there in time for practice today, and was on the Leafs current second line with Tim Conolly and Clarke MacArthur. It’s a line that is expected to be fast, and successful around the net.

Kardi replaces forward Philippe Dupuis, who suffered an undisclosed upper-body injury Monday night against the Kings. In his 22 games with the Marlies, Kadri has scored eight goals, and added 12 assists, good enough to be tagged November AHL player of the month.

Kadri, who is certainly skilled enough to be a full time NHLer, has been toiling the AHL working on getting to the net more and not turning the puck over so often. Playing in Toronto with Conolly and MacArthur, Kadri will best be served in letting the two more experienced veterans get him the puck and not just the other way around.

21-year-old Kadri is expected to play against Buffalo Thursday evening, when the Leafs host the Sabres and Friday, when the Leafs visit the Islanders.
