Customers of Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar and Grill Advised to Monitor for COVID-19 Symptoms

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) received a report late Thursday that an employee of the Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar and Grill, located at 6675 Tecumseh Road East in Windsor, has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked between Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. Restaurant management has advised the WECHU that a thorough cleaning and sanitization has taken place.

Windsor - Aug. 2, 2020:
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) received a report late Thursday that an employee of the Chuck’s Roadhouse Bar and Grill, located at 6675 Tecumseh Road East in Windsor, has tested positive for COVID-19. The employee worked between Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25. Restaurant management has advised the WECHU that a thorough cleaning and sanitization has taken place.

The WECHU staff have spoken with the employee and are working to identify close contacts. All of the proper precautions were taken by the premise and the staff person in question was wearing a face covering while working. The WECHU is notifying the public because there is a potential risk of COVID-19 exposure to the customers who visited the restaurant on the specified dates.

“While the risk of contracting COVID-19 is low, it is important for customers to watch for the development of signs and symptoms consistent with the novel coronavirus. Anyone who develops symptoms should be tested as soon as they can,” says Dr. Wajid Ahmed, Medical Officer of Health with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.

Customers who were on the patio or who picked up take out food between Friday, July 24 and Saturday, July 25 are being asked to take the online COVID-19 Self-Assessment, monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days, and if any symptoms develop, contact their primary care provider or go to an assessment centre.

To protect yourself from COVID-19

    - Wash your hands regularly and thoroughly;
    - Cough or sneeze into your sleeve or a tissue;
    - Keep surfaces clean and disinfected;
    - Stay home unless it is essential to go out and stay home when you are sick;
    -Practice physical distancing (2 Metres); and
    -Wear a non-medical cloth mask in commercial establishments and in settings where physical distancing cannot be maintained.
