Cornwall - Jul. 5, 2011 - The City of Cornwall’s Medical Recruitment Team has successfully secured a new physician for the community.

“I am pleased to announce that Dr. Olugbenga Dehinbo will be setting up his practice in Cornwall,” said Mayor Bob Kilger. “Dr. Dehinbo was secured thanks to the efforts of our Medical Recruitment Team.”

Dr. Dehinbo, an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist, has been practicing in Newfoundland but was seeking opportunities in a more central part of Canada. Dr. Michael Cox, hospital liaison for the recruitment team, contacted Dr. Dehinbo and invited him to Cornwall for a professional visit and an opportunity to spend time at Cornwall Community Hospital. The experience, coupled with the welcoming atmosphere in the community, resulted in his ultimate decision to locate here.

“With the welcome arrival of Dr. Dehinbo and his family, Cornwall once again has a full complement of OB/GYN’s,” said Dr. Cox. “It means that the City and surrounding region will be well served, now and in the future.”

About the Medical Recruitment Team
City Council established a Medical Recruitment Team several years ago to pro-actively work to attract new physicians and health professionals to the community. Part of the team’s effort includes participation in the annual Health Professionals’ Recruitment Tour which makes stops in seven medical centres across Ontario. Since its inception, the Medical Recruitment Team has helped to attract a number of physicians and specialists to the City.
