Cornwall - Mar. 14, 2011 - The Akwesasne Warriors will take on the New York Aviators in the inaugural Federal Hockey League finals.

The Aviators skated away with a thrilling 3-2 overtime win over the Danbury Whalers on Sunday to secure their place in the FHL finals, while Akwesasne had previously dispatched the Thousand Island Privateers in four games to make it to the championship round.

The best-of-five final will start Friday, with Games 1 and 2 scheduled for Friday and Saturday in New York. The series will return to Cornwall Island the following weekend for Game 3 on March 25 (7:35 p.m.) and, if necessary, Game 4 on March 26 (7:35 p.m.). The date for the possible Game 5 has yet to be determined.

Miguel Delisle and Den Tessier currently lead the Warriors in playoff scoring, with five goals and four assists each.
